For anyone who enjoyed the Floral Blocks workshop this year, I've now put together a workshop to create a similar piece of art, but this time using the beautiful subject of landscapes.
Once again, we'll be working on a wooden panel using acrylics, ink and watercolour, exploring the benefit of layers and some materials that can help you achieve texture. I'll also be encouraging you to be a little looser and more confident with your mark making.
Suitable for all abilities, this workshop offers an inspiring and supportive learning experience to help you develop your skills and knowledge.

During the course we’ll explore:
the qualities of working on a wooden panel and how the surface can influence the marks we create
the freedom of working loosely and expressively, allowing materials to create unexpected shapes and textures
how to look for and respond to the shapes and marks we create, developing your visual awareness
the importance of building layers to create depth and interest within the landscape
glazing techniques to create subtle changes in tone and soften colour transitions
a variety of tools and materials, including pallet knives to create texture and expressive mark making
composition and how to bring together shapes, colours and marks to create a cohesive landscape
