Workshop Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions – 1-Day & 3-Day Art Workshops at Wedgwood

1. Booking & Payment

  • A non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure your place:

    • £25pp for a 1-Day Workshop

    • £50pp for a 3-Day Workshop

  • Remaining balance must be paid at least 3 weeks before the Workshop date. Unpaid balances may result in cancellation and your place offered to someone else.

  • Bookings made within 3 weeks require full payment at booking.

  • Payment in instalments is available (if cost is over £100) by prior arrangement, but the total must be paid by the final due date.

  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer or PayPal.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

If You Cancel:

  • If your place is successfully re-filled (from the waiting list or your own referral) you’ll receive a full refund minus the deposit.

  • In some circumstances I may offer credit toward a future Workshop at my discretion.

Notice Given Before Start Date:

If you cancel more than 21 days before the Workshop, you’ll receive a full refund minus the deposit.

Cancellations made less than 21 days before the Workshop are non-refundable unless your place can be re-filled (minus the deposit).

If I Cancel:

  • In the unlikely event I need to cancel, you will receive a full refund including the deposit.

  • However I cannot be responsible for any additional costs you may have incurred (eg: travel or accommodation).

  • Alternatively you may choose to transfer your payment to a rescheduled or alternative date.

3. Force Majeure

As the organiser I am not liable for any delays, alteration or cancellations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including, but not limited to natural disasters, war, acts of terrorism, industrial action, pandemics, or government restrictions.

4. Lunch & Dietary Requirements

  • A light lunch is provided by Wedgwood and included in your fee.

  • Please advise of any dietary requirements or allergies at least 2 weeks prior to the Workshop so appropriate arrangements can be made.

  • Unlimited refreshments are available throughout the day.

5. Materials & Equipment

  • Materials for activities and demonstrations are often included.

  • If specific materials are required, I’ll let you know in advance.

  • Hazardous items (e.g. strong solvents) are not permitted in the venue

  • A suggested list of optional items (e.g. sketchbooks, brushes, reference photos) may be sent to you before the Workshop.

6. Location Information

  • Workshops are held at the Wedgwood Visitor Centre, usually in the Darwin Suite.

  • Free parking and Wi-Fi are available.

  • Please arrive at the time specified. The venue opens its doors to the public at 10am, but will allow Workshop participants to enter at 9.45am, reception staff will let you in and direct you to the Darwin Suite.

7. Conduct & Behaviour

  • Respectful and co-operative behaviour is expected from all participants.

  • I reserve the right to ask a person to leave (without refund) if behaviour is disruptive, abusive, or unsafe.

8. Health & Safety

  • Please inform me in advance of any health, mobility, or dietary requirements.

  • All participants must comply with the venues health and safety regulations, and any instructions given by myself or venue staff.

9. Personal Belongings

  • I am not responsible or liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

10. Photography & Intellectual Property

  • I may take photos during the Workshop for promotional use — let me know in advance if you prefer not to be included.

  • You are welcome to take photos for personal use, but must credit the artist/teacher when sharing or publishing publicly, in respect for that persons intellectual property.

  • All Workshop content, demonstrations and teaching materials remain the intellectual property of me (the artist/teacher) and cannot be reproduced, copied, or used to lead other teaching activities without my written permission.

11. Minimum Attendance

If minimum numbers are not met, I may need to cancel or reschedule the Workshop. In this case, you’ll be offered a full refund or transfer to another date.

12. Programme Changes

I reserve the right to adjust programme content or timings where necessary, while maintaining overall quality and value of the Workshop.

13. Liability & Waiver

By attending, you acknowledge the inherent risks involved in creative and related physical activities, and agree that I (the organiser shall not be liable for injury, illness, damage, loss, accident or delay delays except where caused by proven negligence. This does not exclude liability for matters that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless, me (the organiser) from any claims, liability, damages or expenses resulting from actions, behaviour, or conduct that causes injury or damage to others during the workshop.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be.subject to the jurisdiction of the UK courts.

By booking a place on the Workshop, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
