During the course we’ll explore:
the qualities of charcoal and ink, and the effects that can be achieved with them
expressive mark making techniques to suggest form
the importance of building layers to create depth and interest
a variety of materials and tools to create texture
the use of a limited palette of colours to create softness and atmosphere
ways to create a series of studies or paintings that have a cohesive feel to them
Throughout the course you’ll enjoy:

a variety of samples to support your learning, including demonstrations as and when necessary
time to practise, explore and develop your own individual approach.
