Join me for a fun and relaxing week of learning where you can focus on the art of creating portraits. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your portrait practice, this retreat is suitable for all levels and encourages exploration in a warm and welcoming environment. I always try to find beautiful, peaceful locations to host these events, away from the distractions of everyday life, where you can unwind, connect with your creativity, and focus on developing your portraiture work.

You’ll enjoy three full days of expert tuition and guidance, where you can:

• Understand scale, proportion, and simplifying shape for better drawings

• Use tone, light, and shadow to create depth and expression

• Improve paint handling techniques ie: layering and glazing

• Explore colour mixing to build colour knowledge and understanding

• Develop compositional skills that can convey mood and emotion

• Experiment with backgrounds and mark-making for creative impact

• Develop your sketchbook and artistic confidence

• 4-night stay in a peaceful, beautiful property

• Fully catered: buffet-style breakfast and lunch + delicious 2-course evening meal with wine

Please Note…Meals on retreats are home-cooked and designed to be nourishing and inclusive. I can usually cater for common preferences (such as vegetarian, vegan, or simple gluten-free), however I’m not a professional chef and I cannot guarantee an allergen-free kitchen at the venues or levels of cross-contamination control that may be required for certain medical conditions (such as coeliac disease or severe food allergies).
