FAQs

How much will it cost?

Cost depends on the complexity of the picture you want me to paint and its size. As everything is done by hand the more detail I have to put in, the longer it will take and therefore the more it will cost. On average painted commissions start from £250 and drawing commissions from £150.

Do you work from photographs?

Yes, you can send me a variety of photos of your subject then we can decide together which ones will be most suitable. This will also help us decide what size and format your painting should be.

How long will it take?

On average about 4 weeks, but again this will depend on how detailed your picture is and what size you want it. The weeks leading up to Christmas can be busy so commissions may take longer at this time of year. Time for any framing requests also need to be taken into account.

Can I make changes part way through?

Once the process begins I will send you regular updates to show you how its progressing. We can discuss any slight alterations as we go, but any major changes will incur additional time charges.

Will it be framed?

I can certainly arrange framing for you or if you prefer you can choose to do this yourself. If posting the painting to you then this might be a better option to keep costs down. A box canvas can be hung without a frame and drawings come in a mount and cellophane.

Can I pay by instalments?

Yes of course, a deposit is required to secure the booking then work will begin. You can then pay by regular instalments until final payment on completion and you can take your painting home.
